Toni's Story

Toni from 20th Street in the Mission District

Since CitiApartments took over my building, 10 units have been vacated.

The CitiApartments “customer care representative” Clarence has called me over a dozen times about a “relocation package.”  He offered me $10,000 to move out of mine, but I don’t want to move.  I told him three times on the phone and sent three letters registered mail demanding that he stop the harassment.

Despite having a residential manager and being directed to the CitiApartments main office, calls, emails, and letters sent registered mail were not acknowledged.  After I called the Department of building Inspection, and the Inspector Jose Lopez send CitiApartments a notice of nine violations.  Then they were quick to contact me and fix the problems.

CitiApartments MUST respond to and return calls, emails, and letters sent by tenants.  The City of San Francisco should openly refuse to give Social Security Numbers to landlords so that they can’t use this information to try to harass us out of our apartments.
